About Casting

What does it mean to cast at Sustainable Collapse?

If you’ve ever played a video game, or a table-top roleplaying game, you know what an NPC (non-player character) is. They’re all of the characters that make up the world- the shop keepers, the villains, the townsfolk and nobility, the creatures in distress and the ones doing the distressing, etc.

When Sustainable Collapse players enter our world, it can’t be empty. We need people to populate it, to help make the stories happen. That is what it means to be cast. You would come and join our team, and play multiple roles over the course of the weekend.

If you like acting or an improv challenge, you’ll love our roleplay-heavy roles like politicians, merchants, people in trouble, and teachers.

If that doesn’t sound like a good time, no worries! You might be interested in our more combat-heavy roles, like monsters, spellcasters, sword-fighters, and gunslingers. The people that our players get to fight against.

Not sure if any of that is for you? We have something for everyone, and we can find something you’ll love doing.

So, what does it cost? Well, for you, nothing. We’ll feed you, give you a place to sleep, provide costuming, makeup, props, weapons, and stories- everything you need for the weekend besides some personal basics. All you need to do is get there.
